Hey everyone! I know I’ve been MIA for a few days, but it has been so nice to take the week off since I completed my 5K. Apart from participating in a hardcore rowing class, which I will cover in my next post, I have been doing zero amounts of exercise.
I wanted my body to fully recover before I begin seriously half-marathon training tomorrow, Monday. I’m going to have daily updates about my workouts, the running club I joined, and tips and tricks to help beginner, like me, train for a half.
Now for the award. I was nominated for the Ewonderhub Award by newhealthieryoublog. I have to admit in my short lived time in the blogging community, this amazing blogolista always comments on my posts, she is super motivating, and writes content that is both easy to read and very informative, I think she is awesome.
Running to Milan history: I started this blog to track my virtual miles as I “travel” from Manhattan to Milan. Along the way I also decided to add some lifestyle stories, and non-running related fitness posts, because hey this blog is my own and I can do whatever I want to it, insert evil laugh. If you look at the right hand side of my blog you will find a countdown calendar. In April I hope to go to Milan and run their marathon, thus finishing my miles in the place where I virtually intended to. For now I’m signing up for races, getting stronger at the gym, and becoming a better person and athlete for it.
Tips: Stay consistent. It’s the hardest thing for me to do. Life will happen, but try to blog at least once a week. Sometimes If I’m luck I’ll get in two posts for the week, but usually I try to make it at least one. Comment on other bloggers, because you will learn amazing things, and talk to some really great people, but also you will begin to gather a readership following. The last thing I would advice is just have fun with it. Sometimes when I would blog on my other URLs I would let the imperfection of what I was writing get into my head. I would start to think why people wouldn’t like this, or this is boring, or maybe I should write this. Do what feels good to to you, the right people will follow.
