On Thursdays We Run

Today we said good-bye to our writer at work. We took her out to lunch, we stuffed her with cake, and we drank till our heart’s content. Then I remembered I had committed to run with my friend, who hates running.

We walked down to the park, stopping to take a picture of the cute little tulip display that someone had lined with lights. Then I turned on Runkeeper and we aimed at 2 mile run.

We kept it a super easy pace, talking the whole way, sharing funny stories, and looking around at the gorgeous scenery. That’s the way to attract your non-runner friends, just try to keep things fun and light. After completing a little over a  mile we took a break to stretch, drink water, and then get ready to do the next mile. For the beginner runners out there this is such a great way to slowly get your body to adjust to running. I learned that my body recovers better with ample stretching and easy running. I will eventually get to the half marathon and fast running pace, but for now I’m just enjoying the process.

Tomorrow it’s time for some kickboxing, movies, and popcorn ❤ What are your weekend plans? Doing any running?

Miles Left: 4,000

Great advice for running and any activity requiring sustained cardio! It’s amazing how quickly the body can be ready to go again after a short break and stretch!
